Electronics and communication (EC) engineering is one of the largest and most sophisticated branches of engineering. It works at the frontier of high technology and is involved in research, creation of new ideas, design and development of new products and technologies, manufacturing and marketing activities etc. It has a vital position in the technology revolution. The applications of this branch have not only made our life easier but enjoyable too.


Department of Electronics & Communication

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 2010 one of the distinct oldest departments in the Institute. Further the branch of Electrical Engineering was added in 2013. The faculty members believe in high quality teaching and are very active in projects, conferences and research publications, workshops, short term training programmes, faculty development programmes, co-curricular activities such as value addition programmes, expert lectures etc.

We have a nice blend of faculty members belonging to different age groups and areas of expertise, having good academic qualifications and track records, teaching and professional experience. We are also associated with and taking benefit of capabilities of eminent people - proven experts - in their own areas of interest.

The scope of Electronics & communication Engineering is very wide open because the world is moving in the field of technology and developments. Electronics & communication Engineering offers scope in the field of Research, Mobile Communication, Microwave Communication, Robotics, Defence, Radio Communication, TV Broadcasting, Telegraphy & Telephony, VLSI Design, DSP, Nuclear Science, Wireless Communication and Biotechnology.

A graduate in EC can apply for the post of engineers with the state government, the central government and the public sector. Central services like Indian Engineering Service (IES), Indian Telephone Industries, BSNL/ MTNL, Civil Aviation Department, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., HPCL / BPCL / IPCL, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Bharat Electronics Limited, Indian Railways, ISRO, DRDO and the Defense Services offer exciting careers. Private sector opportunities exist in profusion, in the Semiconductor industry, VLSI design industry, Software industry including MNCs, Computer related fields and in the Telecom Sector including mobile computing, hardware and networking.
